My Story

My name is Owen Bevan and I am studying Mathematics with Economics at Lancaster University. This year I shall be leading a fundraising team to summit Mount Kenya as we raise money for Dig Deep, an amazing water sanitation charity.

Dig Deep use a 3T policy. Taps, Toilets and Training. Based in Kenya they provide:
-Taps for clean drinking water
-Safe, sanitary and private Toilets
-Training for both parents and children to ensure that they live a hygienic lifestyle to avoid the accumulation of disease and parasites.

The 3T's is a drop to start the ripple effect to come. An example of what this means is due to the privacy of toilets and sanitary education revolved around periods etc has brought the attendance of girls at one school from 15 to 250. With clean water, the performance of the children within school also increases dramatically.

This shall be my second year leading a team through one of Dig Deeps charity challenges following last years climb up Mount Kilimanjaro. This means I will have climbed Africas 2 tallest mountains in the name of DIg Deep.
