My Story

Hi! My name is Beth, I am a Postgraduate student at the University of Sheffield, and I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in September 2019 with Dig Deep. Dig Deep are a not-for-profit charity that works to provide taps, toilets, and hygiene health training to communities in East Africa. So far, since they were founded 10 years ago, they have helped over 27,000 people!

I am passionate about making an impact to improve people's lives, and I also love taking part in outdoor activities, and so I signed up for the Kilimanjaro Challenge as I think it is a great way to combine the two!

Half of the money that I raise will be donated straight to Dig Deep in support of the amazing work that they do to provide clean water and sanitation to those who need it. The other 50% will cover trip costs for the challenge, which, amongst other things, will include paying a fair wage to the local people who work on Mount Kilimanjaro every day. Any donation will be greatly appreciated, and will have a direct impact on so many people's lives. Thank you!
