- My Story
My name is Alex from Liverpool and I'm in my first year studying mechanical engineering at Lancaster University. I will be climbing Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, to raise money for Dig Deep. I am looking forward to using this opportunity to make a difference for communities in Africa as well as travelling to the continent. I will raise £2500, half of which will go directly to the charity and the other half will go towards the cost of the Kilimanjaro trip. The charity, Dig Deep, helps to provide clean water and sanitation to villages in Kenya where 8 out of 10 people lack these basic human rights. The charity also helps to provide education to children and provides schools with taps providing clean water. On top of this, the charity provides vital hygiene training and also ensures that the sanitation and taps are maintained and make a difference for future generations.
Just £25 could give a child a safe, hygienic toilet at their school. £50 could give three children access to clean drinking water at their school. £100 could give 30 children and their families life-changing health training.
